- Venerable Bhikkhunī Sumaṅgalā graduated with a M.A. in Industrial and Organisational Psychology, UKM (1999) Malaysia and a M.A. in Buddhist Philosophy, International Buddhist College, Thailand (2011). She renounced her corporate life as a Branch Manager and became an Anagarika (leaving household life) since 2005 under the spiritual guidance of Venerable Bhikkhu Mahinda Mahā Thera, Malaysia; and Venerable Nadimale Sumedha Maniyo, Sri Lanka.
- Currently, Venerable Sumaṅgalā Bhikkhunī is the Abbess of Ariya Vihara and the Spiritual Advisor of Gotami Vihāra Society. She is invited to deliver Dhamma talks in various buddhist societies and conferences, conduct meditation retreats in Malaysia and abroad. She also conducts Dhamma Education for Family, youth and children camps; Metta and Mindfulness workshops, and Individual and family counseling and etc.
- In 2019, she has pioneered the Ariya Monastic & Laity Training Program – one of the 1st Theravada Bhikkhunī and Laity Development Program in Malaysia to nurture potential Dhamma leader, noble practitioner and Bhikkhunī Sangha in Malaysia. At present, she is also leading a Building Project Team and invite all supporters to donate and build the New Ariya Vihara at Kwasa Damansara, Selangor - The 1st Malaysian Theravāda Bhikkhunī Nunnery and Dhamma Training Centre (schedule for construction in 2023) for the wellbeing, happiness and benefit of the many. Her tag line is “Living Skillfully by the Dhamma”.
