- Before becoming a Buddhist volunteer translator Oleg was a civic activist and civil servant in Ukraine [a new democracy of Eastern Europe which experienced two democratic revolutions].
- After the start of the local military conflict in Eastern Ukraine 8 years ago, Oleg and his NGO team promoted resilience, critical thinking and volunteering among thousands of students in the conflict affected regions.
- Now when the his country is experiencing a full scale Russian invasion, Oleg shares his experiences of applying the advises given by Buddhist teachers in facing the war mindfully, fearlessly & compassionately - not only from the news, but also from one’s window.
- Coming from a mixed Russian-Ukrainian ethnical background himself, Oleg speaks about the need of reconciliation and how to heal the psychological wounds of the war from a Dharma perspective.
