- Dr Lydia Brown is a Clinical Psychologist, Resilience Researcher and Mindfulness Teacher. She holds academic positions at The University of Melbourne and La Trobe University, and completed postdoctoral training at Harvard Medical School. She is fascinated by how people can use mindfulness and compassion-based techniques to cope with life's challenges. Her research in this area has been covered in the media internationally, including The Chicago Tribune, the ABC and Reuters Health.
- Prior to training to be a psychologist, she spent many months living in a Buddhist monastery in the hills above Kandy, Sri Lanka - where she learnt Buddhist Meditation. She draws on this personal training in meditation, as well as her knowledge of the science, to deliver workshops and public talks. As an International Advisory Board Member to Headspace (one of the world's leading mindfulness meditation apps), she helps shape global trends in mindfulness and well-being practices. She shares their mission: to improve the health and happiness of the world.
