Efgenii Buziatov

  • Completed his first MA degree in political science (Higher School of Economics, Russia), but then decided to change completely his sphere of interests and studied Buddhology and Tibetan language.
  • Finished the BA program at Rangjung Yeshe Institute (Nepal), which includes traditional Buddhist philosophy classes taught by the monastic teachers of Ka-Nying Shedrub Ling Monastery, as well as history and Tibetan language classes conducted by both Western and Tibetan teachers and language partners.
  • Afterwards, completed the MA program at Hamburg University (Germany) under the supervision of Prof. Dorji Wagchuk. The program focuses on studying classical Tibetan texts and producing critical editions of them by employing the philological approach.
  • Since 2007, have been working as an interpreter for the Western and Tibetan Buddhist teachers, in particular Chokyi Nyima Rinpoche, Mingyur Rinpoche, Lama Zopa Rinpoche. Editor in chief of the Russian section of the website Study Buddhism run by the scholar and translator Dr. Alexander Berzin.
